The Window to all Hearts and Mind
From the time immemorial
To today
They speak to me vividly
About what they thought
And about
Love, lost, living and dying
Gods, goodness and ghosts.
The world I see
Is what they showed me to be.
From the time immemorial
To the present time
They let me travel
In the garden of their imagination
Dancing, crying, sobbing
Living or dying
Like their characters
I can feel the pain
Pleasure and hunger
Strike at injustice
From my caged cell.
From the time immemorial
To the present time
Their fantasies live
And propagate
Like the old banyan tree
With stem gone for ever
But like the old demon
Who can never be killed
Where one drop of his blood falls
One demon resurrects
But as a new positive possibility
From time immemorial
To the present time
Through the words of mouth
Or via the vehicle called alphabets
Let the string of thoughts
Live and survive
Unmutated or permutated
Becoming the Vedas, Bible of sci fi
Red book or the Dream of the Red Mansion
For me to read and marvel
Finding that
Minds think alike
Hearts feel alike
Across time and space
Across languages and race and culture
Wondering and cherishing
And achieving immortality
Through a media called
Book.
