Wild Mustard Flowers
I was after those
Yellow wild mustard flowers
Decorating the side of the highways
And the space between new housing developments
Bringing into my mind
The rolling hills of California
Bursting with yellow wild color
Like the primal desire in all of us.
The wonderful
Yellow wild mustard flowers
Lets me wonder
Why does it bloom?
Is it part of a grand design?
Do I fit in it?
Like the cherry blossoms
And wild mustard flowers
What happens?
When we mess it up?
By making new houses and highways
And shopping malls
Where deer used to graze
Between wild mustard flowers.
And what happens to
My place on universe
When we make things out of place?
Does chaos return
Or the grand designer’s maayaa
Makes every thing a part of its pattern
Like the cityscape with dandelions and
Wild mustard flowers
And guys with beer bellies and baldheads?
